(Technical) Help Section
If you have experienced any issues please make sure:
1. Install Black And White 2, 1.1 Patch and 1.2 Patches available on bwfiles or BWRealm then install 1.42 Fan Patch, DO NOT install any crack prior or after the patching in any way
2. Run the Redux 1.8 setup file, if you it asks you to overwrite confirm and/ or if it asks for conversion of the file/s to ReadOnly confirm also
3. (Optional) After the setup is done you can patch your white.exe with 4gb patch or LAA patch
Frequently Asked Questions
I have/ had error during the installation of Black And White 2 setup:
- Find another source of the iso of Black And White 2, preferably non pre cracked
Redux is crashing on startup and/ or New Game:
- Most common issue is because of corrupted Black And White 2 installation, re-install the game and try again, if that doesn’t work find another iso
My Black And White 2 or BW2 Redux is crashing with Net Framework errors:
- Use the Net framework tool by Microsoft to repair your C++ Installation
- Reinstall whole packages again along with June2010 DirectX
- Links can be found on the Black And White discord server in the "bw2-downloads" channel
Skirmish Saves don't load or it crashes while saving:
- Skirmish is still being worked on and improved with each update. Nevertheless it's not perfect yet so make sure to create a save before entering a skirmish map
(In-Game) Guide Section
General
- All options of the Redux mod can be found on the “Gods Playground” Land, accessible after the Norse Tutorial Land
- Skirmish Scrolls and options are located on the center east part of the Land
- Alignment Effects (if you can't stand too bright and/or too dark alignment effect for good/evil you can turn it on or off with the Silver Scroll) located on the south east part of the land
- Redux Spells (turn this off or on for custom Redux Spells) located on the center part of the land near skirmish scrolls
- Difficulty Selection (bronze scroll is your informative scroll and silver is for changing the difficulty from Very Easy to Very Hard)
New Wonders
Miracle Forest -> Spawns a large forest (Siren Wonder must be purchased first).
Thunderstorm -> Summons a raging Thunderstorm on the target location (Hurricane Wonder must be purchased first).
Meteor -> After a short delay summon a large meteor that crashes on the target location causing moderate to high damage in large area (Earthquake Wonder must be purchased first).
Rain Of Fire -> Summon an ominous cloud above the target area that rains fireballs from the sky on randomized locations (Volcano Wonder must be purchased first).
Expanded Military (Melee)
BERSERKERS (Two crossed Swords) - are same / similar to vanilla Black And White 2 melee platoons, but abit changed in Redux, they have high damage, good speed but slightly lower defense.
HEAVY MELEE PLATOON (Shield icon) - have very weak attack and slow movement speed, they have more health but are weak to ranged attacks.
CHARGERS (Shield with broken arrows) - they are great for hit and run tactics, with their high speed and high resistance to ranged attacks they are very useful to rush enemy ranged platoons or taking over enemy town centers quickly.
Expanded Military (Ranged)
ARCHERS (Bow and Arrow) - in Redux they can shoot on Rookie rank and upwards while moving, they have very high single target damage and are mediocre versus the large advancing platoons, they also have mid range attacks (very weak versus Chargers).
SNIPERS (Bow and multiple arrows) - while their damage versus single target is commendable, they really shine on hit and run tactics, long range attacks and especially vs large number of melee platoons (Weak versus chargers). They will fire many many arrows at once if no friendly unit is nearby their target enemy.
Alignment Features (Evil and Good):
1. You automatically generate more mana the more towns OR villagers you have (for maximum mana generation you either need 3 towns in possession or 725 villagers)
Alignment Features (Evil):
Undead Armies:
1. In 1.8 Redux the script is changed drastically, now it spawns correct undead platoons and it’s rebalanced
2. In order to spawn undead army you need:
- 75 % + Alignment ( 76 % onwards to be precise )
- Built Graveyard in your town
- Sacrifice villagers on the Altar (children are best because they provide highest mana pool along with Sacrifice ratio for quicker threshold for number of sacrifices)
- Minimal sacrifices is 30 for 5 undead soldiers and 150 sacrifices for 50 undead soldiers
Alignment Features (Good):
1. There are no current changes (but planned) in gameplay for Good alignment
